Rajeswari Rengarajan
Family Resource Specialist
What I Do at The Autism Project
I'm a Family Resource Specialist and a proud member of The Autism Project's Family Support Specialist (FSS) team. Within this role, I actively contribute to training sessions and workshops, providing crucial assistance to fellow FSS members. My focus is on supporting families of neurodivergent children, offering essential resources, and creating visual aids to enhance their understanding and coping mechanisms. It's a role that brings me immense joy as I collaborate with a community dedicated to understanding, empathy, and valuable resources for those navigating the challenges of raising neurodivergent kids.
My Professional Journey
I hold a master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Systems Engineering and served as an Assistant Professor at Velammal Engineering College in India. However, life took a profound turn when my son was born, prompting a career break. His diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder redirected my path, and I found a new calling in supporting families like mine. Now, as a Family Resource Specialist and a member of the FSS team, I blend my academic background with hands-on experience, finding fulfillment in aiding families and caregivers, ensuring they have the resources and support needed for their unique journey.
