Lisa McKay
Lead Facilitator
What I do at TAP:
My job at The Autism Project is to lead Unity Community, our adult program and keep the members moving! "Move more, sit less" is my motto. I meet all members at their level of physical fitness. I adapt the equipment and modify activity as needed. I do this in all aspects of their busy time with us at Unity Community.
My professional bio:
I hold a B.S. in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, and Health Education. I participated in the University of North Carolina TEACCH Autism Program and numerous conscience discipline trainings.
I recently retired from my teaching career which started in 1980 and I also handed over the head coach position for the North Kingstown Special Olympics Team that I led for 43 years. I now provide the team with the best practice coaching techniques, visual and behavioral supports.
