Lauren Stumper

Lead Facilitator

What I do at TAP:

My role at The Autism Project is to help facilitate our adult program, Unity Community, where members engage in regular fitness routines, art and games, socialization, job readiness skills, and everyday life skills. I work to provide a safe and supportive community where I can foster and facilitate meaningful social interactions/connection, provide self and co-regulation strategies, and increase functional life skills through structured activities.

My Professional bio:

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, with a minor in Psychology, from Roger Williams University, as well as a Master of Education in Special Education from Rhode Island College. Before joining The Autism Project full-time, I worked as a Special Educator, since 2015, in an elementary school and middle school setting. I have also worked part-time at our social groups at The Autism Project since 2014, as well as several years at our summer camp. I am trained in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) level 1, as well as Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP). I have also participated in several days of Conscious Discipline trainings.
