Cathy Young
Social Groups Program Supervisor
What I do at TAP:
I try to keep things running smoothly for social skills groups and camp! I am the one sending emails for calendar updates, group events, and everyday communication. I am lucky to get to work in most of the groups that we offer, which allows me to get to know our participants very well! When I’m not “socializing” in groups and emails, I create visuals and materials for participants and staff!
My professional bio:
I earned my Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from New England Institute of Technology in 2013. I have worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a school setting with students of all ages, for the past nine years. In 2016, I started working with TAP as a group facilitator, and stepped in as the Social Groups Program Supervisor and Camp Director in Fall of 2020.
I have participated in a variety of trainings including TAAP- Treadmill for students with Autism and Apraxia Protocol, Yoga for Classrooms, and Brain Gym. I love learning about new tools and techniques and learn more from the kids I work with than I ever have in a classroom!
