Who Can Register for a HEZ Training?
You can register for the HEZ trainings if you meet one or both of the following criteria:
1) You are a parent or guardian of children ages birth - 5 who live in one the following towns: Woonsocket (02895), Bristol (02809), Warren (02885) or Central Providence (02908, 02909).
2) You are a professional supporting children ages birth - 5 who live in one the following towns: Woonsocket (02895), Bristol (02809), Warren (02885) or Central Providence (02908, 02909).
What Trainings Are Available?
Conscious Discipline® for Parents: CD for Parents is a 5-week training series for parents Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach that teaches adults to control their own emotional responses to children so they can stay present at the moment, connect with the child, and then work through the feelings the child is having together. Conscious Discipline is a proven, comprehensive approach that empowers you with skills that create a safe, connected, problem-solving environment for families.
Parent-to-Parent ASD: Parent-to-Parent ASD is a series taught for parents, by parents. Over a period of 5 weeks (1.5 hours per week), the group will discuss strategies for supporting a child with autism. In addition, the group will learn positive advocacy techniques, and methods of building a collaborative care team. For more information and to sign up, please go to the following link:
For Parents And Professionals:
Each of these workshops is 2 hours long, and provides 2 Early Learning or Social Work CEUs.
